My love for the arts stemmed from the amazing education I received from school. An arts education can lead to so much more than an arts career. It lets students think outside the box, kids learn valuable motor and interpersonal skills. Art Garden Academy needed my help in spreading their message of combining arts with science in their Gahanna studio. Art Garden Academy offered an array of camps and classes that supported a STEAM education outside of the school classroom. The biggest challenge was finding material that convinced parents that including art in their child’s education was essential. Every month, I averaged 6 articles on the benefits of a STEAM education with an emphasis on the arts portion. The scientific backing was essential to convincing parents that art would result in a well-balanced education.
